Dr. Antonini was recently a guest in Cairo for the annual DZAC4 congress, at the invitation of Dr. Ossama Ghattas, one of Egypt’s leading figures in andrological surgery.

During the event, Antonini presented his extensive experience in implanting three-component hydraulic penile prostheses, with particular focus on the infrapubic access technique, in which he is today one of the world’s foremost experts.
During the scientific session, a stimulating exchange of ideas took place with international colleagues, including Dr. Ghattas, who illustrated his innovative ectopic reservoir positioning technique, providing valuable insights for managing complex cases.

The Egyptian experience once again confirms Antonini’s international role as a reference point for functional urology and prosthetic surgery of the male genitals, in constant dialogue and collaboration with global centers of excellence.
The highlight was the live surgical session held at Dr. Ghattas’s hospital facility in Alexandria, Egypt, where Dr. Antonini performed eight implants of three-component hydraulic penile prostheses on patients affected by vascular pathologies, diabetes, fibrosis, and previous tumors.
All cases were handled with extreme speed and precision, completing each procedure in about 20 minutes.
One of the most complex cases involved a patient with two previous infections and two explants, with severe fibrosis of the corpora cavernosa: even in this context, infrapubic access proved to be a winning surgical route, enabling effective and safe execution thanks to the technique perfected by Dr. Antonini.

Those present, including surgeons from various Middle Eastern and European countries, praised the Italian surgeon’s excellent technical mastery, defining him without hesitation as one of the world’s leading experts in implanting hydraulic penile prostheses via infrapubic approach.
