Researcher from 2016 to 2021 and, during the same period, Aggregate Professor of Urology (MED/24) at the Department of Gynecological, Obstetric and Urological Sciences at Sapienza University of Rome.
For over 20 years, Dr. Antonini has been the leading penile implant surgeon performing the highest number of hydraulic penile prosthesis implantations in Italy. Furthermore, he is the first and only surgeon in Europe to perform the minimally invasive technique for three-component penile prosthesis placement, developed through continuous collaboration with Prof. Paul Perito in the United States.
On July 24, 2026, in Las Vegas, Dr. Antonini reached one of the most prestigious milestones in the international medical community by receiving the FGPS (Fellow of Genitourinary Prosthetic Surgery) title from the Society of Urologic Prosthetic Surgeons (SUPS). Presented directly by his mentor Prof. Paul Perito, this award confirms him as the only specialist in Italy to enter this elite global group of prosthetic urology surgeons.
Antonini Urology has also been officially recognized as the sole Center of Excellence for penile prosthesis surgery in Italy by Prof. Steven K. Wilson, a world-leading authority in the field. High surgical volume, thousands of successful cases, and outstanding clinical outcomes ensure that patients receive the highest standards of medical care globally.
As the first surgeon in the world authorized by the government to perform and teach penile prosthesis surgery in Cuba, he established a key reference center for sexual medicine serving Latin America.
