Prevention in sports medicine

With the abolition in January 2005 of compulsory military service, which in the past was the only form of large-scale andrological screening, the only primary preventive measure for young adults has been lost. Unlike women, who visit the gynaecologist as early as adolescence, many men are unaware that physical and sexual well-being requires proper prevention and a relationship of trust with their specialist. Most causes of male infertility are triggered by problems already present in adolescence, such as varicocele or undescended testicles, which, if detected in time, can prevent infertility.
