In the prestigious setting of the Casa di Cura Quisisana in Rome, a high-technical-content operating session took place, featuring the participation of Dr. Muhat Mohammed Al Murayyi as a guest, a reference urologist in Saudi Arabia.
In a single morning, five implants of three-component hydraulic penile prostheses were performed, all using infrapubic access, a technique refined by Prof. Antonini together with Prof. Paul Perito (USA). The procedures included:
- Complex vascular patients with chronic erectile dysfunction;
- A case of severe penile curvature (90° lateral to the left) on dysplastic basis, treated with the intracavernous “scratch” technique devised by Prof. Perito;
- A delicate explant and reimplant procedure for a malfunctioning and malpositioned prosthesis with a concertina effect, which prevented the patient from achieving adequate erection. In just three hours of operating room time, all patients were successfully treated, confirming the method’s effectiveness and Prof. Antonini’s extraordinary surgical mastery, today considered one of the world’s leading experts in hydraulic penile prosthesis implantation.
This day strengthens the educational and clinical bond between Antonini Urology and the main Middle East centers, paving the way for new missions, collaborations, and international training.
