More and more men, even young ones, who, dissatisfied with their measurements, are asking the surgeon for help to increase not only the length but also the width of the penis.
Now, thanks to a pioneering technique developed by two surgeons, one Italian and the other American, it is possible to do it in a safe and long-lasting way thanks to cross-linked (or cross-linked) hyaluronic acid obtained in the laboratory. Preliminary data, presented today as a world premiere in Las Vegas at the 2015 Aesthetic Show, on 1500 patients (between 28 and 55 years old) treated in the last 3 years demonstrate an increase in penile circumference from 4 to 8 centimetres, up to 10 cm in selected cases.

“90% of patients said they were satisfied and do not see a reabsorption of the injected material after 20 months, 10% want a ‘refill’ but are still satisfied. What we have developed is an outpatient procedure, lasting approximately 15 minutes, with no side effects”. This was explained to Adnkronos Salute by Dr. Gabriele Antonini, urologist-andrologist of the U.Bracci Urology department of the Umberto I-Sapienza University of Rome, the co-author of the technique together with Prof. Paul Perito, American surgeon of the Coral Gables Hospital (Florida).
“Penis enlargement is something that many men request, in Italy around 15% of males between 25 and 55 years old make a first andrological visit for this reason – recalls Antonini – In the EU there are also similar percentages in Spain, Portugal, France and Switzerland. In the USA it is mainly Latin Americans and Hispanics who ask for this type of intervention”. Why do many men look for an ‘oversized’ size? “It happens – replies the surgeon – when you live with too much
an organ that is too narrow or tapered is an embarrassment, even if the length is average.” “Up to now – warns the expert – centrifuged fat taken from the patient himself, chemically treated dermal matrix and even infiltrations with silicone have been used improperly. Methods that cause enormous aesthetic damage: with bumps and adhesions, which can also block the penis. While with our procedure there is no allergic reaction, because hyaluronic acid is already physiologically present in the dermis; the penis appears perfectly natural, soft with a homogeneous distribution of hyaluronic acid without blemishes or deformities”.
“There are – Antonini underlines – two types of hyaluronic acid, the linear one and the cross-linked or cross-linked one: the first, well known, is used as a filler in anti-aging treatments, for example to eliminate wrinkles on the forehead. The second is prepared in the laboratory and has the characteristics of being hydrophilic, bioelastic, capable of promoting the natural expansion of the tissues. It is also long-lasting and stable for up to 24 months. Also because the penis is less subject to continuous movements, as happens in the muscles of the face”.
“During the experimentation – recalls the urologist surgeon – we used the hydrodissection technique of the dartoic fasciae and then proceeded with the infiltration of cross-linked hyaluronic acid over Buck’s fascia. We start by injecting 1 ml and work up to 10 ml. In this way the penis underwent an enlargement from a minimum of 4 cm up to 8 cm and in some cases 10. Now, after the presentation at the most important aesthetic medicine meeting in Las Vegas, we will publish the results of our experimentation”.
