FGPS sta per Fellow of the Genital Prosthetic Surgeons.
This honorary professional fellowship is awarded to a highly select group of surgeons who have demonstrated outstanding expertise in genital prosthetic surgery, particularly in the implantation of penile prostheses and artificial urinary sphincters. While it is neither an academic degree nor a government-recognized medical specialty, it represents a distinguished international recognition bestowed by the world’s leading authorities in prosthetic urology.
- extensive experience in genital prosthetic surgery;
- the highest standards of surgical skill and clinical excellence;
- membership in an exclusive international community of illustrious specialists;
- recognition by the main world leaders in the field of prosthetic urology.
In a highly specialized discipline such as penile prosthetic surgery, professional distinction is earned through consistently excellent clinical results, high procedural volume, superior surgical results and the respect of the international medical community. For these reasons, the FGPS designation represents a sign of excellence and a truly distinguished professional achievement.
I am deeply honored to have received the title of FGPS – Fellow of the Genital Prosthetic Surgeons, one of the most prestigious international awards in the field of genital prosthetic surgery. This scholarship is awarded exclusively to surgeons who have demonstrated exceptional technical mastery, extensive experience and unwavering dedication to male genital prosthetic surgery, serving as an illustrious testament to excellence in functional, reconstructive and prosthetic urology.
I would like to express my deepest gratitude to my mentor, Dr. Paul Perito, whose guidance, trust and extraordinary example have been instrumental in my professional development and achievement of this important milestone. I am particularly proud to be the only urologist in Italy to have received this recognition and one of only three surgeons in Europe to hold this scholarship. This recognition reflects years of dedication, continuous study and a surgical practice characterized by a very high volume of penile prosthesis implantations, optimized operational efficiency without ever compromising patient safety and an unwavering commitment to achieving exceptional functional and aesthetic results.
Receiving the title of Fellow of the Genital Prosthetic Surgeons is not, for me, a destination but rather an inspiration to continue to advance the field through innovation, education and the pursuit of the highest standards of patient care, while offering the most advanced solutions available in prosthetic urological surgery.
