On the occasion of the AURO congress – Association of Italian Urologists, held in Genoa on 11 April, Dr. Antonini was awarded the “Best Video” award for the andrology session. The video presented by the title COMPLEX MANAGEMENT OF CYLINDER COATING ADHESION IN INFRAPUBIC PENILE PROSTHESIS REVISION SURGERY illustrated the management of an extremely complex case: a patient subjected to four previous prosthesis explantations, with complete fusion of the prosthetic cylinders to the capsule of the corpora cavernosa. Thanks to a combined surgical approach, with infrapubic access associated with a counterincision on the median raphe of the middle third of the penis, it was possible to completely explant all the components of the previous prosthesis and proceed with the reimplantation of a new prosthesis, obtaining an excellent result from both an aesthetic and functional point of view.
During the congress, Dr. Antonini also presented a second contribution entitled SURGICAL TREATMENT OF IPP: THE SCRATCH TECHNIQUE dedicated to the results in the treatment of induratio penis plastic using the “scratch” technique. This method allows you to treat even severe penile curvatures, exceeding 90°, through a minimally invasive surgical procedure lasting approximately 30 minutes. The infrapubic access allows not only the prosthetic implant, but also the complete correction of the curvature, giving the penis a straight appearance and functionality that is often compromised over time. This recognition once again confirms Doctor Antonini as a point of reference in functional urology in Italy, for experience, results and volumes, and among the most authoritative professionals also at a European and international level.
